About the (quiet) bike
I am riding a Kona Blast which is a couple of years old but serving me very well. My off-road riding in Canberra punished the poor thing and it took anything I threw at it. This page contains various bits about the bike and some of our rides.
28Oct2006 - I brought the bike with me to the UK and have done a little riding so far, mainly on the road. Just up behind our flat there is a motorcycle track that doubles as a public road so that is quite fun to go for a road. It is quite scenic too. Looking forward to some good, dirty, off-roading!
Rides
05Jun07 - Dalby Forest
Another ride up at Dalby Forest. Weather turned out fantastic (a little warmer this time!). They have updated the red run up there quite a bit since last time and it was excellent. A really good mix of fast flat, drop-offs, jumps, rocky parts, etc with some good technical parts. No photos, as I had to pack light, but I have put up the GPS tracks and Google Earth overlays. Great day out!

19Dec06 - Dalby Forest
I went biking in Dalby Forest today. It was really foggy in Scarborough but we broke through it just in time on the way to Dalby. The temperature didn't get above freezing for the day but we kept moving and had a great time. The tracks were excellent and unlike anything I've done before. There were some wood-boarded tracks, some great downhills and a lot of mud. The mud was so slippery it took some time to get used to it but once I did it was a lot of fun. The only minor hiccup was an advertisement for the benefits of wearing a helmet as I slipped on a boarded section straight into a tree. The impact was enough to take a chunk out of the side of my helmet and split it down the middle. The helmet went in the bin but apart from bit of a headache I survived unscathed and I went on to ride the rest of the day. There aren't many photos as I was having too much fun on the ride but I will take some more next time to give you a better idea of whats there.

Gear
01Nov06 - I got a Magellan eXplorist 210 GPS for my birthday and was so impressed with all its features I decided I wanted it attached to the bike so I got the handle-bar bracket for it and it is working a treat. I think it allows it to get a better signal from the satellites too but time will tell.
